Life Enrichment at Heartwood
Heartwood Place Memory Care offers many different social and leisure activities through the life enrichment program to help residents continue to be active, social, and involved in their community. We strive to have activities that meet a variety of needs and enrich the whole person. This includes involvement in social, physical, spiritual, nutritional, and intellectual projects! Whether your loved one enjoys bingo, cards, community outings, entertainment, exercise, bible study, or even special group cooking activities – we have the variety to keep them engaged and happy. One of our favorite local outings each spring is to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival! We welcome family and friends to join us at Heartwood Place in any of our activities or events.
As soon as a new resident moves into Heartwood Place, our Activities Director, Lea Safarov, meets with them one-on-one to find out what they enjoy. Lea was once a caretaker here at Heartwood Place, and has since loved her role leading activities and connecting with residents. It’s through understanding their personal history that we assist in matching activities to their liking! We never hesitate to encourage participation in upcoming events and group activities that they would likely love. We also offer one-on-one visits with our residents that make for a meaningful daily experience.
We Love Adventure!
We offer scheduled transportation services and provide opportunities for a variety of outings for our residents. Although we offer many life enrichment activities within the walls of our Heartwood Place Community, we also encourage residents to venture out! Enjoy the freedom of going shopping, attending a social event and getting involved in the local community as well. We are here to assist with maintaining your active lifestyle, whether out in the community or in our beautiful facility.
Some of the places our community bus frequents:
- Out to lunch and shopping
- Scenic drives/special day trips
- Local events/programs at senior centers and farmer’s markets
- Social visits in the community
